Personal comment:This book teaches that altruism is
important, also if we have to give up
something ours to help people who need. So it's a good tale to tell to children who need a right education.

I liked this book because of the originality of the story. it is not a usual love story or an adventure story but a new tale about altruism and friendship. The protagonists are unusual too : thay're a statue and a swallow. I think that in this book the author shows his pessimistic point of view about human life: he has compassion for poor people but he considers them unable to emancipate themselves.
